This one-day program aims at contributing to capacity building of senior & top executives of Banks/NBFCs and FIs, providing insights into the dynamic growth of fintechs and into the potential of the emerging technologies to shape the future financial landscape. This program would also facilitate collaborations with fintechs and the requisite technological innovation for enhanced operations, governance and regulatory compliance

The program aims at updating the participants on the policy / regulatory updates and sensitizing the participants on the significance of sound and robust data management, data protection and data processing policies / capabilities, importance of cyber security framework and need for having in place strong internal control systems and governance standards.

Against this backdrop, CAFRAL is conducting a half-day Conference of the Chief Human Resources Officers (CHROs) and Chief Learning Officers (CLOs) of HR of banks, FIs & NBFCs to deliberate on the new trends in HR and the learning challenges. It would also provide an opportunity for interaction and ideation amongst HR experts on recent trends and developments in the capacity building space and emerging HR challenges

This five-day unique leadership program will help the participants to do a self-assessment and also assess others that can be leveraged to build efficient teams. The Centre for Advanced Financial Research and Learning (CAFRAL), a leading research organization promoted by the Reserve Bank of India, invites submissions for its fifth annual conference on the Financial system and Macroeconomy in Emerging Economies.

The program seeks to enhance the awareness of the BoD of REs on the regulatory expectations on their roles and responsibilities, sensitise them on issues of current interest, provide practical aspects of Board governance and their role in various sub-committees of the Board, the emerging challenges in non-financial risks such as cyber risk & climate change risk. It will offer a platform for peer level discussion and an opportunity to listen to & interact with the regulator.

Using loan-level administrative data and a regulatory shock that induced some banks to redirect lending from non-financial firms to Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs), we find that firms dependent on such banks witness a contraction in total borrowing and experience worse real outcomes. NBFIs use additional bank lending to make new loans, increasing lender.

What prevents people from entering the job market, particularly in emerging economies with few social security benefits? It is important to understand this, especially in the context of India, where around 49% of the working-age population choose not to work. Among women, about 75% are out of the labor force. We complement existing literature on low labor force participation by looking at how the interaction of the macroeconomic environment with the intra-household disparities in time spent on household work can explain this
