About Shri Debangshu Munshi

Shri Debangshu Munshi brings over three decades of experience in banking to his role as Program Director at CAFRAL. Prior to joining CAFRAL, his last assignment was as Chief General Manager, Associates & Subsidiaries at State Bank of India. A 1994 batch Probationary Officer of SBI, he had a distinguished career spanning treasury, international banking, human resources, learning and development, and apex-level corporate governance. In his most senior role, he exercised oversight responsibility for 18 non-banking subsidiaries and 14 Regional Rural Banks, while simultaneously serving as Nominee Director on the boards of listed and unlisted entities across insurance, credit cards, broking, payments, and custodial services. He has been closely engaged with the SBI Chairman's office across multiple stints, contributing to strategic planning, policy formulation, HR strategy, and digital transformation at the highest levels of India’s largest financial services conglomerate. A postgraduate of University of Lucknow, he is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers and also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Advising.
